The Enneagram

Background Note –
Need –

  1. Machines are predictable as they follow pre-defined algorithms, Finance follows fixed rules, Business processes can be defined but People, which are the most important resource for an Organization seem to have a mind of their own.
  2. The study of People to reveal predictable behaviour patterns with some element of probability has moved us towards several tools like the MBTI, FIRO-B, Big 5, etc. which are psychological profiling tools that have given us very good insight into people and their behaviours, but none of them can point to what motivates people to do what they do.
  3. With emotional intelligence playing a very big role at the Workplace, one needs to empathize with and motivate people. It is not feasible for you to make everyone that you meet take a test to understand what makes them tick.

The program focuses on providing an in-depth understanding of the Personality Types, broadly grouped into 9 basic types, according to the Enneagram which is an ancient Sufi Empirical study on people, and then further subdivided for finer study. It focuses on the motivations of people and their blind spots which allows a larger empathy of peoples’ emotional states and boundaries.  It allows for and can direct the evolving of a person in the direction of ‘flow’ rather than against the grain of their basic personalities.  This makes for a shorter time for creating Leaders who have their own unique styles.
